PhD Sport and Exercise Sciences

Bangor University

Course overview

This PhD Sport and Exercise Science programme is an opportunity for students who want to be part of the growing Sport, Exercise and Adventure industries or research communities. It is for students who have a strong drive and passion for research. Students will be working with elite athletes to help improve their performance and be involved in developing knowledge of how science can be applied to sport and physical exercise to improve coaching or teaching ability.

Through this program, students could help develop the world’s understanding of exercise as a medicine for people with health problems and promote the benefits of physical activity and exercise. Studying a PhD in this area will allow students to explore career opportunities such as sport and exercise psychology or working in rehabilitation. A PhD will get them several rungs further up the job ladder and will increase their earning potential.
