LLB Law with a Language

University of Sussex

Course overview

In this course, students will gain a solid grounding in English law, as well as explore international, European, and Canadian law. Students can choose one language from Arabic, British Sign Language, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, or Spanish. They will also cover how the law regulates the relationship between the individual and the state, how the law responds to dealings between individuals and groups, and theoretical and practical aspects of law.

Studying law develops students’ skills of analysis, argument, and persuasion, equipping them for a variety of careers. The course satisfies the academic component of Bar training and acts as a gateway to further qualification as both a solicitor and a barrister. The Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) must be taken by graduates wishing to become solicitors.
