MEng Astronautics and Space Engineering with placement
Course overview
This integrated Master's (MEng) degree combines study at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It prepares students for employment in the rapidly expanding space industry, making use of the University of Surrey's four decades of leadership in designing small satellites. The course is formally accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), which means it satisfies all educational requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer.
Students will put their learning into practice by completing project work, working closely with experts at the Surrey Space Centre. This gives them direct, hands-on experience with the technology used in actual space missions. The MEng degree includes an extra Master's year and an award-winning Professional Training placement, which is a fast way to get an advanced qualification.
Entry requirements
Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and any other relevant information regarding their studies. An academic or employer reference is also required. Students also have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate any relevant professional experience or background.

- The offer for the MEng programme is three A-level grades of AAA to AAB. Required subjects must include Mathematics and another STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics), such as Physics or Computer Science.
- Alternatively, applicants may need to achieve an overall score of 34–35 points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
English Proficiency:
