BSc Nursing Studies Registered Nurse Adult Nursing

Course Overview

The BSc Nursing Studies (Registered Nurse Adult Nursing) lasts for three years and leads to a certification as a Registered Adult Nurse, in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standard. This course is divided between theory and practice, with 50% focusing on academics and 50% on clinical placements with supervision in NHS partner hospitals, giving students practical experience.

Students will be taught how to care for adults aged 16 and above by focusing on health, illness, and evidence-based practice. Students will have access to the University’s advanced Clinical Simulation Centre, with wards and a critical care unit, which will allow them to practise clinical situations safely. Assessment is done through written examinations, coursework, and practical skills assessments.

Entry Requirements for Nigerian Students

Grade Requirements

  • Candidates need an A-level that includes a BBC or equivalent.
  • Other International qualifications equivalent to A-levels are also accepted.
  • A GCSE grade 4 (C) in English Language and Mathematics.

English Proficiency

  • Candidates need an overall score of 6.5 in the IELTS Academic test.
  • Other English language test scores, such as PTE Academic and TOEFL IBT, are accepted.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for the BSc Nursing Studies (Registered Nurse Adult Nursing) programme at the University of Surrey is £17,500. This is subject to change annually.
