BEng Chemical Engineering with foundation year
Course overview
The BEng Chemical Engineering with Foundation Year at the University of Surrey is a good option if your school grades are not high enough for a standard course. It includes an extra year, called the Foundation Year, which helps you improve your skills and makes starting university easier. When you finish this extra year successfully, you move straight into the first year of the main degree.
This course focuses on sustainability, meaning you will learn how to create cleaner and renewable solutions for the future. The university's chemical engineering degree gives students the technical skills and the mindset needed to solve real engineering problems in the chemical and process industries.
Students will experience the complete chemical engineering process using the University's £1.7 million facility. This facility has a fully working pilot process plant, which students will operate as a team during their third year. The course is assessed using different methods for each module, and students get credit for passing each one.
Studying BEng Chemical Engineering with Foundation Year at the University of Surrey gives students the supported start and industry focus they need to build a successful engineering career.
