BEng Aerospace Engineering with foundation year

University of Surrey

Course overview

This four-year course is a thorough programme designed to prepare future engineers for careers working on both aeroplanes and spacecraft. The first year builds a strong basis in key subjects like advanced materials, aerodynamics, design, space systems, and engine technology before they start the main degree.

Students get to learn from experts whose teaching includes the newest research. They will use specialist equipment, including modern wind-tunnel labs. To gain practical, job-ready skills, students can join student design teams like the winning UAS Challenge or the Team Peryton rocketry group. This BEng degree is formally approved by both the IMechE and the RAeS.

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement where they discuss their motives for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their past studies. An academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their Curriculum Vitae (CV) along with their applications to show their work experience.
