LLB Law

The LLB Law at the University of Suffolk enables students to learn the essential characteristics of law and develop foundational legal skills. Students will begin by exploring the theories and philosophies that support law and the English legal system.

Students will also examine the main concepts of the constitutional, administrative and human rights aspects of public law in England and Wales. They will engage critically with the nature of the British constitution and the function of constitutional principles in balancing the relationship between the executive, the legislature and the judiciary.

Students will study the moral and ethical aspects of law and the practice of law in a range of legal settings. They will understand specific sets of regulations set by professional bodies, namely the Bar Standards Board and the Solicitors Regulation Authority. They will experience an extended mock trial and will spend time reflecting on the law in society and access to justice.

Interested candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. An academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants are expected to have 112 UCAS tariff points with qualifications equivalent to A-Levels at BBC.
• Other qualifications include a BTEC Diploma and an Access to HE Diploma.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants from non-English-speaking backgrounds usually need an overall IELTS score of 6.5.
• Alternatively, equivalent qualifications like PTE and TOEFL are also accepted.

The annual tuition fee for international students on the LLB Law at the University of Suffolk is £15,090.

The University of Suffolk offers financial awards to support international undergraduate students. The International Merit Scholarship offers international candidates with excellent academic achievement a tuition fee reduction of £2,000 for meeting academic entry requirements and £3,000 for overachieving.

The Vice-Chancellor's Excellence in Health Scholarship is another opportunity that offers a £4,000 reduction of tuition fees for exceptional international students in professional practice in the health sector, especially students in professional health degrees.
