MSc International Relations

Course Overview

The MSc International Relations at the University of Strathclyde will equip students with a deep understanding of international politics, global issues, key actors, and processes that shape the world today, as well as the frameworks and techniques through which they influence everyday life. The course offers a wide range of specialist classes on topics such as international law, the EU, security, and gender.

Students will explore the roles powerful states, international organisations, and social movements play in international and regional politics, and learn how to respond to global crises and conflicts. Entry Requirements for Nigerian Students

Interested candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. An academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants are expected to have a First or upper second-class Honours degree, or equivalent, in social science.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds usually need an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each of the four components.
  • Alternatively, equivalent qualifications like PTE and TOEFL are also accepted.

Cost of Study

The annual tuition fee for international students on the MSc International Relations at the University of Strathclyde is £21,550.
