MSc Advanced Computer Science with Data Science January start

Course Overview

This programme prepares students with the skills needed to handle the challenges of the data revolution. It helps you understand how classical statistical methods are applied in the contemporary analysis of data and offers you opportunities to carry out a research project with the industry. The curriculum is focused on such critical fields as Distributed Information Systems and Machine Learning Data Analytics, which will assist in preparing students to work in different fields.

You will study using lectures, tutorials and labs, and it is a blend of individual and team learning. Students will gain expertise in computer and data science, alongside important skills in communication, teamwork and analysis. Assessment is conducted through written examinations, reports, oral presentations and moderated peer assessment. A significant MSc project is a core part of the summer semester.

Entry Requirements for Nigerian Students

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants should have at least a lower second-class (2:2) Honours degree, or an international equivalent, in computer science or a closely related subject.
  • It is also important that you have significant programming experience, with knowledge of a language such as Python, Java, or C++.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English speaking countries must achieve a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no individual component score below 5.5. The University also accepts other equivalent English language tests.

Cost of Study

The annual tuition fee for international students on the MSc Advanced Computer Science with Data Science (January start) at the University of Strathclyde is £30,250.

Scholarships

The university offers various scholarships to support both home and international postgraduate students. These scholarships are automatically applied to eligible students based on their academic qualifications.
