MEng Electrical Energy Systems

Course Overview

The MEng Electrical Energy Systems at the University of Strathclyde is a five-year full-time degree that focuses on the key role of electrical energy in our contemporary society. It addresses the issue of delivering reliable energy supplies with little environmental impact by integrating renewable and carbon-neutral energy sources, such as solar, wind, and tidal power.

This programme is approved by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), fulfilling requirements for Chartered Engineer status.

Entry Requirements for Nigerian Students

The University of Strathclyde accepts the following requirements for international students who wish to study MEng Electrical Energy Systems.

Grade Requirements:

  • A-Levels of AAB-BBB, with Maths and Physics required
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) scoring 32-36 points, with HL5 in Maths and Physics.

English Proficiency:

  • IELTS Academic (UKVI) with an overall score of 6.5 and a minimum of 5.5 in each band
  • Pearson PTE. Equivalent scores accepted
  • TOEFL iBT and Cambridge ESOL are also accepted.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for international students undertaking the MEng Electrical Energy Systems programme is £29,350 per year.
