LLM International Commercial Law

Course Overview

The LLM International Commercial Law at the University of Strathclyde provides students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to build a career in the area of international commercial law. They will have the opportunity to pursue their own interests and tailor their degree according to their career path.

Students will have the chance to attend seminars, guest lectures and other events relevant to their studies throughout the programme. This programme is available full-time and part-time, with three potential exit points. With satisfactory performance, it's possible to transfer between these exit points:

  • Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert)
  • Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip)
  • Masters degree (LLM)

A unique aspect of this course is the option for students to specialise in Financial Law. Depending upon which electives they select, they can choose to graduate with an LLM in International Commercial Law with a specialisation in Financial Regulation.

About University

Founded in 1796, the University of Strathclyde is a leading public research university located in the centre of Glasgow, Scotland's largest city. It was the first technological university in the UK. Entry Requirements for Nigerian Students

Interested candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. An academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants are expected to have a first- or second-class honours degree, or overseas equivalent, in a related discipline.
  • Other qualifications may be accepted where the applicant has relevant work experience.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English-speaking backgrounds usually need an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each of the four components.
  • Alternatively, equivalent qualifications like PTE and TOEFL are also accepted.

Cost of Study

The annual tuition fee for international students on the LLM International Commercial Law at the University of Strathclyde is £25,000.
