MSc Strategic and Digital Marketing

Course Overview

This MSc in Strategic Digital Marketing is designed to give you a strong understanding of the important ideas and skills you need to succeed in the world of digital marketing. The course is recognised by three leading marketing organisations: CIM, DMA, and PRCA.

You'll learn through a mix of online and in-person classes each week, along with time for your study. You'll be assessed through presentations, reports, essays, and projects (both group and individual), including a realistic brand management exercise. There are no exams.

Additionally, you'll learn from experienced teachers and researchers who are well-known in the fields of marketing, digital media, and public relations. While the course doesn't currently include placements or internships, you're welcome to explore these opportunities on your own.

About University

The University of South Wales focuses on giving you practical skills and experiences, and they work with industry leaders to design their courses. They've invested in the latest technology and equipment to make sure you learn in an environment that's similar to what you'll find in the industry. 

The university also provides plenty of resources to help you learn, such as textbooks, online journals, and materials you can access from home. The university offers a wide range of courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in subjects like Medicine, Law, Engineering, Business, and the Arts.

Entry Requirements

To apply, you'll need to write a personal statement explaining why you want to take the course and provide any other relevant information about your studies. You'll also need to provide a reference from a teacher or employer. 

You can also include your CV to show your work experience.  If your application is suitable, you'll be invited for an interview with a member of the teaching staff, and you'll need to pass this interview to be offered a place on the course.

Grade Requirements:

  • You will usually need a UK 2:2 Honours degree (or an equivalent qualification from another country). If you have relevant work experience in the industry, your application will also be considered.

English Proficiency:

  • If English isn't your first language, you'll need an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with at least 5.5 in each part,  or an equivalent qualification such as TOEFL or PTE.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for international students undertaking the MSc Strategic and Digital Marketing program is £16,900 per year.

Scholarships

The University of South Wales has several scholarships and ways to help you with the cost of your studies and living expenses for the 2025/2026 school year. For example, if you've studied at the University of South Wales before and are now coming back for a postgraduate course, you could get a discount on your fees through the USW Postgraduate Alumni Discount. 

There's also the USW Postgraduate Ethnicity Equality Bursary, which is there to support students from particular ethnic backgrounds.
