University of Salford

Course overview

This BSc Podiatry at the University of Salford is a full-time, three-year programme that focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions affecting the foot and lower limb, many of which are linked to general health issues. Students develop skills to manage care pathways for complex conditions like those related to diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis, as well as common problems, including sports injuries.

Students will begin to practice their skills with patients just six weeks after starting the course in the University's own clinic. This clinic has excellent, modern equipment, including a room for making custom shoe inserts (orthosis suite) and a lab for studying human movement. Their practical experience will continue in NHS clinics one day each week, and you will have longer work placements in their final year. The course is officially approved by the Royal College of Podiatry.
