BA Creative Computing

Course Overview

The BA Creative Computing at the University of Portsmouth enables students to use technology as a creative medium, learning through hands-on engagement with modern creative practice in a range of areas such as design systems, hardware prototyping, and software development. 

Students will use research and industry-standard tools, to engage with game engines and emerging technologies, which allows them to explore potential career paths and build a professional portfolio.

The 3-year course will help students to identify and solve real-world problems using their creative and technical skills across multiple disciplines (e.g., music, visual art, film) while leveraging computational systems.

Entry Requirements for Nigerian Students

Applicants must submit a personal statement that outlines their interest in studying the programme and how it aligns with their academic and career goals. Applicants may also decide to upload their CV, which showcases relevant work experience in the field.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants are expected to have 112-120 UCAS tariff points obtained through BBB-BBC to include relevant subjects such as mathematics, computer science, and economics. Other equivalent qualifications, such as the BTEC Extended Diploma and International Baccalaureate, are also accepted. 

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) with no component score below 6.0.

Cost of Study

The tuition fees for international students enrolling in the BA Creative Computing program at the University of Portsmouth for the 2025/26 academic session are £19,200 for the full-time program.
