Overview
The BA Computer Games Art at the University of Portsmouth is a three-year programme designed to master the technical skills required to create assets for video games. The programme covers key areas, including art theory, observational drawing, digital sculpting, texture painting, 3D modelling, rigging, and animation to produce artists ready for the games and wider creative industries.
Learning takes place in high-specification facilities, such as the UK's first Centre for Creative Immersive and Extended Reality (CCIXR). Students will collaborate with peers from other game courses and make use of industry-standard game engines such as Unreal and motion capture technologies in project work. Assessment involves practical assignments and the creation of a professional portfolio.
