BSc Chemistry

University of Kent

Course overview

The BSc Chemistry at the University of Kent gives students a strong foundation in the theory of chemistry by covering organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry, while also developing practical laboratory skills from the very start. Students explore real-world applications of chemistry through “chemistry in context” case studies, addressing global challenges such as climate change, energy storage, and health.

Assessment combines written exams, continuous coursework, lab reports, and presentations. In their final year, they will complete an independent research project, which helps them grow as a scientist and learn to communicate their findings effectively.
