BSc Psychology with Criminology With Founation Year

University of Hull

Course overview

The BSc  Psychology with Criminology with Foundation Year at the University of Hull looks at the connection between the human mind (psychology) and criminal behaviour (criminology), giving students strong knowledge of both. The full programme includes a Foundation Year, which is designed to completely prepare students for university study. This first year is especially helpful if students are returning to education or need extra help meeting the usual entry requirements. The main degree has been approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Learning brings together classroom ideas (theory) with hands-on experience (practical work), using specialised places like a brain stimulation laboratory, an eye-tracking lab, and a life-like crime scene facility on campus. To be graded, students will complete coursework, sit examinations, and complete a major psychology research project in their final year. They will also get chances to gain work experience and visit criminal justice organisations.

Entry requirements

When applying, candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their Curriculum Vitae (CV) along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.
