BEng Chemical Engineering With Foundation Year

University of Hull

Course overview

This programme is an integrated four-year full-time course consisting of a preparatory Foundation Year followed by the three-year BEng Chemical Engineering degree.

The Foundation Year is designed for students whose previous qualifications or experience do not allow direct entry into the undergraduate degree. It develops essential subject knowledge and academic skills, ensuring students are fully prepared for the demands of degree-level study.

Successful completion of the Foundation Year, including compulsory modules such as Mathematics for Engineers, guarantees automatic progression to the accredited BEng Chemical Engineering programme.

The BEng degree is fully accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), placing graduates on the professional pathway to becoming an Incorporated Engineer. Students also gain valuable practical experience through hands-on training at specialist facilities such as CATCH.
