MSc Child and Adolescent Psychology
Course overview
The MSc Child and Adolescent Psychology at the University of Greenwich teaches students about mental health and the development of children and young people. It's designed for those with a bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field who wish to specialise in this area.
The programme includes training in psychological theory and research, addressing cognitive, social, and emotional development, as well as mental health. It also covers developmental psychology from infancy to young adulthood, including social and emotional well-being.
In addition, students develop research skills, including data collection, interpretation, and critical thinking. They also gain writing skills to undertake a substantial piece of research in child and adolescent psychology while choosing from one of the three optional modules. By the end of the programme, graduates will be able to work with children and adolescents as social care providers.
Learning is through lectures, tutorials, workshops, and group projects, and students are assessed through classroom presentations, discussions, assignments, examinations, and a dissertation.
