University of Greenwich

LLB Law Senior Status

University of Greenwich

Course overview

The LLB Law Senior Status at the University of Greenwich is a two-year full-time Qualifying Law Degree (QLD) designed specifically for students who already hold an undergraduate degree in a non-law subject and wish to convert to a Law degree. The programme delivers substantive legal knowledge while placing law within a broader context of social, political, moral, and economic issues.

Students engage in core modules covering foundational areas of law, develop skills in legal research, writing, and advocacy, and have opportunities to participate in pro bono work and real-client legal advice through the university’s Legal Advice Centre. These modules include Legal System, Law of Torts, Law of Contract, Equity and Trusts, Criminal Law Senior Status, and Land Law.

Students are taught through a combination of timetabled learning, independent study, seminars, and workshops. Assessment is a combination of exams, coursework, case studies, seminars, and workshops. The programme is accreditation-ready for professional qualification routes in England and Wales, the Solicitors Qualifying Exam.
