Engineering, MSc by Research

University of GreenwichMedway Campus, United Kingdom

Course overview

The MSc by Research in Engineering at the University of Greenwich is designed for engineers who wish to undertake in-depth industrial or academic research while gaining a postgraduate qualification. The programme is structured around a substantial 120-credit Individual Research Project, supported by 60 credits of elective taught modules.

This flexible structure is particularly suitable for working professionals, as it allows students to carry out research directly related to their current engineering roles. Each student is supported by at least two supervisors who provide expert technical guidance throughout the research process.

Assessment is primarily based on the Individual Research Project, which is examined through a written thesis and an oral viva examination. The taught modules are assessed using a combination of examinations, coursework assignments, and group presentations.
