LLM Corporate Responsibility and Business Law
Course overview
The LLM Corporate Responsibility and Business Law at the University of Essex explores the important legal questions about what responsibilities companies have towards society. The programme gives students the skills to study the legal rules and models for Corporate Responsibility, ethical business, how companies are run (corporate governance), and human rights in business. Graduates will be ready for many different jobs in companies, law, and environmental protection across government and charity groups.
Students will attend weekly classes for each module, which are either two-hour workshops or a combination of a lecture and a seminar. To pass the course, students will be assessed through a mix of coursework, examinations, and a mandatory 12,000-word research paper (dissertation) on a topic they choose. They will also get practical legal experience by working at the Essex Law Clinic and taking part in mooting and negotiating events.
