BSc Physiotherapy

University of East London

Course overview

The BSc Physiotherapy at the University of East London is a three-year, full-time course designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge to practise as qualified independent physiotherapists. The programme focuses on teaching how to treat patients of all ages with conditions due to accidents, illness, or disability to maximise their physical function and mobility.

Students begin with foundational physiotherapy subjects and progress to specialised areas like musculoskeletal, respiratory, and neurological physiotherapy. The course features extensive clinical placements in NHS trusts and private healthcare settings, which allow students to gain the required 1,000 clinical practice hours needed for qualification.

The methods used for learning are lectures, workshops, seminars, and hands-on practical sessions with a strong focus on professional communication, patient safety, and evidence-based clinical decision-making. This programme is validated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and enables graduates to register as physiotherapists in the UK.
