Course overview

The BEng Product Design Engineering with a Foundation Year at the University of East London is a four-year course that begins with a year of foundation courses, where the basics of the core degree modules will be taught. Students will be taught how to combine design principles, engineering science, and manufacturing expertise, enabling them to forge a global career as a product design engineer.

The course modules will cover areas including design principles, ergonomics, and the manufacturing processes, crucial for a product design engineer. Students will have access to state-of-the-art facilities that are essential for a product design engineer, such as  CAD suites, control and power electronics labs, and a 5-axis robot for experimentation in large-format production. Grade Requirements:

The international applicants for the BEng Product Design Engineering with a foundation year at the University of East London are required to present one of the following or an equivalent to be eligible for entry:

  • UCAS Tariff: 64 UCAS Tariff points 

  • International Baccalaureate: 24 points, including a minimum of 15 points at Higher Level and must include Mathematics and Physics. 

 

English Language Requirements:

  • The international applicants for the BEng Product Design Engineering with foundation year at the University of East London are required to present an IELTS or any other internationally recognised test of English proficiency. The required IELTS score is a minimum overall of over 5.5, with a minimum of 5.5 in Writing, Speaking, Reading and Listening.
