MEng Energy Engineering With Year in Industry

University of East Anglia UEA

Course overview

The MEng Energy Engineering with Year in Industry at the University of East Anglia (UEA) equips graduates to address global energy challenges and to help shape the future of our society. Both the IET and the EI officially approve this five-year programme. Completing this course means students have completely met the academic requirements to become a Chartered Engineer (CEng). Students also benefit from the University of East Anglia's strong links with the energy companies operating in the East Anglia region.

The study programme begins with an integrated first year in which students learn the basic concepts of engineering. After that, they'll focus on energy engineering from their second year onward. They'll use industry-standard facilities, like Productivity East, during their studies. A central part of the course is the Year in Industry in their third year, where they get to use their knowledge in a real job setting. Students' work is assessed through regular coursework, written reports, presentations, and exams, culminating in a large team design project in their final year.
