PhD Anatomy and human identification research degrees

University of Dundee

Course overview

The PhD Anatomy and Human Identification Research Degrees at the University of Dundee are research degrees, based in the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification (CAHID), which is known internationally for work in human anatomy, forensic anthropology, and identification science.

Students are supervised by academic researchers throughout the PhD. You may also take part in seminars, research group meetings, and specialist workshops relevant to your project. Day-to-day “teaching” in a PhD is not like a taught course. The main method is supervised research, meetings with supervisors, and independent investigation.

Assessment is by original research work that you complete during the degree. There are no written exams or taught coursework exams in a standard UK PhD. This programme is for people who want to develop advanced research experience in anatomical science and human identification, and it leads to a doctoral thesis.
