MSc Biomedical and Molecular Sciences with Management
Course overview
The University of Dundee MSc Biomedical and Molecular Sciences with Management is a 12-month full-time course that brings together advanced biomedical and molecular sciences with key management skills tailored for the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors. Students will study how cells, scientific methods and skills, and the molecular basis of diseases work; how genes and molecules operate in health and disease; learn about organisational leadership and decision-making; and complete a bio-business research project applying their knowledge to real-life development.
For learning and assessment, students will engage in lectures, workshops, journal clubs and practical classes and be evaluated through coursework, exams, scientific writing, presentations and a focused research report. The teaching is mostly classroom-based rather than lab-intensive, focusing on key areas in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors, and students will utilise the strengths of the research in both the School of Life Sciences and the School of Business at Dundee and also gain knowledge and skills that employers are looking for. The University of Dundee has been the top UK university for biological sciences research since 2014, according to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise, and is top in the UK for research quality in biological and biomedical sciences, according to the Complete University Guide 2026.
