Course overview
This module reflects the complexity of the interaction of many different aspects of counselling, psychotherapy and therapy practice. There will be an emphasis on the continued development of theoretical learning, advanced development of clinical skills and an emphasis on independent scholarship. Independent study will focus on both the use of research to support the development of a therapeutic style and the development of an evidence based review of contemporary theory or a small scale research project.
The aim is to equip you to reach the level of independent, evidence-based practitioner. There will be a continued emphasis on anti-discriminatory, reflective and ethical practice throughout the module. We believe that real-world experience is an essential part of academic success.

10% Alumni Discount
All other alumni will receive a 10% discount.

The 25% alumni discount is available if you graduated in the academic years 2023/24 or 2024/25 and are fully enrolled on a postgraduate programme by July 2026.
Biomedical Science Excellence Scholarship
Two awards of £1,000 are available, and will be awarded as a tuition fee reduction in the second semester. Each recipient will also be allocated up to £500 to use to attend a conference.
