BA Entrepreneurship and Creative and Professional Writing

The BA Entrepreneurship and Creative and Professional Writing at the University of Derby is a joint course that allows students to gain a degree in two fields. This course aims to help individuals develop great writing skills by teaching the principles of writing. 

Aside from teaching creative and professional writing, this course introduces students to the entrepreneurial landscape. It also teaches them how to navigate the business world successfully. Studying BA Entrepreneurship and Creative and Professional Writing at the University of Derby allows students to either major in one field or both.

As for learning, the university adopts a mixed method which includes; lectures, creative workshops, project work, technology-enhanced learning, work-experience projects and formal lectures. Assessment for the creative writing part includes submission of novellas, film scripts, blogs, podcasts and YouTube videos. While the entrepreneurial modules are assessed mainly via course works.

To study BA Business & Management at the University of Central Lancashire, the following requirements must be met:

Grade requirements

• Applicants need UCAS tariff points between 112.

• A minimum grade of BBC in A-Levels

• The university also accepts BTEC Extended Diploma with DMM.

• Pass Access to HE Diploma with 60 credits: 45 at Level 3 with a minimum of Distinction: 15, Merit: 24, Pass: 6. This must include passes in compulsory Level 3 subjects

English Proficiency

Non-native English speakers may need to demonstrate proficiency in the language, typically through an IELTS score of at least 6.0. TOEFL or other equivalents are also allowed.

The tuition fee (2025/2026) for BA Entrepreneurship and Creative and Professional Writing at the University of Derby is £16,900 per year. While this covers the majority of the educational expenses, extra expenses such as optional study trips, travel expenses for work placements and additional kits or equipment are not included.

The University of Derby offers international students several scholarships to lessen the cost of study. Individuals who have applied for a full-time degree and have received their offer letter are the only eligible candidates.
