FdSc Health and Social Care

Course Overview

The FdSc Health and Social Care at University College Birmingham is a two-year programme designed to equip students with essential skills and knowledge to meet societal care needs. The course includes one day per week of compulsory work placement in settings such as healthcare trusts and community projects.

Students can further enhance their professional qualifications through additional training, including certification from the Birmingham Safeguarding Children Partnership. Assessment consists of 70% coursework and 30% practical evaluation.

  • 32–56 UCAS Tariff points from Level 3 qualifications, A Levels, or a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma.

English Proficiency

  • IELTS overall score of 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component for applicants whose first language is not English.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for international students is £13,500 per year. Fees are subject to annual change.
