LLB Business Law

Swansea University

Course overview

The three-year LLB Business Law is not a general law degree; it is a specialist undergraduate course suited for students looking to work in commercial or business law. It ensures they gain a strong foundation in all the core legal knowledge essential for becoming professionals. A key benefit is the opportunity to select specific modules covering areas of interest, such as trade law, competition law, and commercial sales.

Learning will be delivered through a blend of lectures, seminars, and workshops, and boosted by practical opportunities like the excellent Law Clinic, where students can practise advising real clients. Students will be assessed through a variety of methods, including written examinations, coursework, mock courtroom advocacy, and the preparation of legal reports. Students may also choose to spend a Year Abroad at a partner institution.

Entry requirements

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. An academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their Curriculum Vitae (CV) along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • The typical offer for this undergraduate degree is based on A-Level grades ranging from AAB to BBB, or an equivalent amount of UCAS Tariff points.
  • The university is flexible in considering different qualifications, including the Welsh Baccalaureate and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (typically 32 points), and all applications are considered on an individual basis.
