BMid Midwifery

Course Overview

The BMid Midwifery at Staffordshire University is an undergraduate programme fully accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. The course prepares students to provide supportive, effective care across various settings, including homes, hospitals, communities, and units led by midwives. The programme also develops skills for safe and effective midwifery practice, coordination of complex care, research, leadership, and critical thinking.

The programme allows for practical placements across Staffordshire, Cheshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire, and the West Midlands, where students gain experience in community care, covering screenings, antenatal clinics, labour care, baby delivery, critical care, postnatal support and observations.

Entry Requirements for Nigerian Students

Candidates must present personal statements discussing why they applied for the course and other information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students can upload their CVs along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements: 

  • Candidates typically need 128 UCAS points in  A-Levels at ABB, a BTEC DMM, an Access qualification or an International Baccalaureate qualification.

English Proficiency: 

  • Candidates from non-English speaking backgrounds must demonstrate English proficiency with an overall score of 7.0 on the IELTS test and a minimum of 7.0 in other sections.
  • Other equivalent tests, like PTE, are also accepted

Cost of Study

For international students taking the BMid Midwifery at Staffordshire University, the annual tuition fee is £19,000.
