MSc Sport Business Management

The MSc Sport Business Management at Sheffield Hallam University is a full-time course that can be completed in one year. This programme is accredited by The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and is taught at the Collegiate Campus. Students will study core modules such as International Strategy and Marketing for Sport, Sport Research and Consultancy, and Economics and Finance for Sport Managers.

During the course, students will develop creative solutions for real clients. They have the chance to gain practical experience through optional internships and will receive support from knowledgeable teachers. Additionally, students can get help from an employability adviser who will assist them with job applications, interview preparations, and CV writing.

Furthermore, before the end of the programme, students will conduct a research project related to the sports industry, working with organisations to solve issues or investigate market opportunities. They can also take part in a 12-week work project where a company mentor and a university staff member will guide them and provide support.

• Applicants who do not have the required qualifications but possess relevant management experience may be invited for an interview. This interview will help determine if they can succeed in the course.

Grade Requirements:

• Candidates can apply if they have a bachelor's degree with a minimum classification of 2:2 in a subject related to sports or business management. 
• Additionally, candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree with a 2:2 or higher in a different subject may also apply, provided they have relevant work experience in sports or general business management.

English Proficiency:

• For applicants who are non-native English speakers, a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 is required, with at least 5.5 in each skill section, or an acceptable equivalent. 

International students enrolling in the Sheffield Hallam University MSc Sport Business Management programme for the academic year 2025/26 will be charged a tuition fee of £19,705 annually.

The Events and Leisure Management Dean's Scholarship, offering £6,000, is available for students pursuing a BSc (Hons) Events and Leisure Management (top-up) degree.
