BSc Honours Criminology and Psychology with Foundation Year
Course overview
The BSc (Honours) Criminology and Psychology with Foundation Year at Sheffield Hallam University is a four-year programme that builds students' critical thinking and research skills. This course is a top choice of many students around the world because it teaches them to observe patterns, work with facts, and source data. Additionally, the degree enables them to understand human behaviour.
In this programme, students learn to investigate crime, identify patterns, and draw reasonable conclusions. They will also work with professionals during their foundation year who will introduce them to the course and its content, as well as develop their reasoning abilities, which is useful in psychology. Additionally, the topics learned in the classroom prepare students to collaborate with police officers, investigation agents, crime analysts, and other licensed officials.
Learning in this course is through seminars, lectures, group discussions, conferences, practicals, independent study, and brainstorming exercises. Assessment methods include presentations, quizzes, portfolios, examinations, and a final-year project. Graduates of this course can work in academia, social research, and mental health, just as past alumni have worked for the Citizens Advice Bureau and the Ministry of Justice.
