MSc Chemistry Chemistry Professional Practice

Nottingham Trent University

Course overview

This Master's degree in Chemistry is formally recognised and has two options: a one-year full-time course or the Professional Practice route. The Professional Practice option includes a one-year work placement and takes two years to complete. The course will give students the advanced practical and research skills that employers are looking for. Students will cover essential areas such as organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry and get practical experience with up-to-date equipment.

The programme's instruction combines classroom teaching (lectures, seminars, and small group tutorials) with lots of lab work and research projects. Students will be graded on things like written exams, coursework, verbal and poster presentations, and their final research project. The full-time course is approved by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), so it meets the standards students need to become a Chartered Chemist (CChem).
