Overview

Entry Requirements

Applicants with non-standard entry qualifications or relevant experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. You will be required to demonstrate how your experiences and knowledge would enable you to study this course at Masters-level level in your personal statement.

Grade Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree, which is equivalent to a UK second-class lower (2:2) degree, is required to study this course. 

English Proficiency:

  • International applicants whose first language is not English will be required to provide proof of proficiency in the language. To do this, an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each skill area is accepted. Equivalent tests are also accepted. 
  • Kindly note that your IELTS remains valid only if it is within two years of your degree course start date. 

Cost of Study

The tuition fee to study an MA in International Relations at Nottingham Trent University is £17,850 for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Scholarships

NTU offers a variety of scholarships to support international students pursuing both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. The NTU International Scholarship, for example, is open to new international students with an offer to study a full-time postgraduate course at NTU. The value of the scholarship ranges from £2,000 up to 50% off tuition fees. Applicants need to submit an application form to be considered for this scholarship.
