BSc Psychology with Criminology
Course overview
This degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and gives you a strong grounding in both psychology and the study of crime. Two-thirds of the course focuses on core psychology topics like brain function, thinking processes, and human behaviour. The rest of the course focuses on criminology, covering criminal behaviour, the criminal justice system, and contemporary policing issues.
The course includes work-like experience, and you have the option of a one-year work placement in Year 3. Students will be taught by experts and use advanced psychology laboratories for research and data analysis. In their final year, they will complete a major research project and select specialist modules in their area of interest.
Entry requirements
Candidates for admission are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.
