Course overview

The BSc Forensic Chemistry at Nottingham Trent University trains students in chemistry methods applied to forensic casework. It mixes chemistry theory, lab work, crime investigation and research to prepare graduates for careers in forensic science, toxicology, or analytical chemistry. Students start with foundational chemistry and move into forensic modules in later years. Modules may include illegal substances analysis, toxicology, analytical chemistry, and case studies. Students are taught using lectures, lab practicals, workshops, tutorials and project work. They spend much time in labs doing chemical tests, sample preparation and instrument analysis.
