PhD Human Sciences

The PhD in Human Sciences at London South Bank University is a research-focused programme that allows students to explore various fields within human sciences, including Sports Science, Food Science (in collaboration with the National Bakery School), Forensic Science and Biomedicine / Pharmaceutical Sciences. As a PhD student, you will become part of LSBU's academic and postgraduate community in the School of Applied and Health Sciences, while a dedicated staff member, an expert in your chosen field, will guide and support your research programme. A PhD is an original contribution to knowledge, distinct from a taught course. Research students are expected to self-direct their learning with support from a supervisory team.

The PhD programme is designed to develop their research skills and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in their chosen field as they will engage in original research, resulting in a thesis that makes a significant contribution to the field of human sciences. Throughout your studies, you will get advice and assistance from a supervisory team, ensuring that your research is of high quality and relevance. As a research degree, the PhD in Human Sciences does not adhere to a standard taught course format.
