BA Music Business including foundation year

This four-year Music Business BA (Hons) programme, which includes a foundation year, aims to give students the knowledge and industry connections they need for a strong career in music and entertainment. The course looks at modern digital approaches, different business models, and how digital royalties work, offering practical experience. 

The course covers many parts of the music business, such as digital streaming, looking after artists, and music publishing, and it also considers how technology and consumer habits will affect the industry's future.

The first part of the programme is the Foundation Year (Year 0), which provides a path into higher education for students who might not meet the standard entry requirements for a degree. During this year, students will tackle business problems, build their confidence and gain important academic skills. 

Throughout the full programme, students will learn through a blend of lectures, workshops, and tutorials, along with their own independent study. They will be assessed using various methods like individual and group tasks, coursework, presentations, reports, and business plans, as well as some exams.

You need to submit a personal statement explaining your reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding your studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CVs along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements: 

• Applicants need A-levels, a BTEC Extended Diploma, T Levels, or the International Baccalaureate. 
• The university also accepts international qualifications equivalent to A-level.

English Proficiency: 

• Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds typically need an overall IELTS score of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in each component. 
• Equivalent qualifications like TOEFL and PTE are also accepted.

For international students, the tuition fee for the 2025/26 academic year is £19,500 per year.

London Metropolitan University offers students various scholarships and grants to help undergraduates with their studies. These include the International Bright Futures Scholarship, which reduces tuition fees for eligible international students, alongside similar fee reductions for EU and USA citizens. 

The university also provides the Sanctuary Scholarship for those facing funding difficulties due to their immigration status and the Unite Foundation Scholarship Scheme, which covers three years of accommodation for eligible students who are care leavers or estranged from their parents.
