DHealthPsych Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology

Course Overview

The DHealthPsych Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University focuses on equipping the future health psychologist for a range of professional careers. The programme follows a nationally agreed curriculum of competences for health psychologists. Students will develop skills in teaching and training, behaviour change interventions, research, consultancy and demonstration of the professional skills needed to qualify in this field. These skills are developed through job roles, taught sessions on the programme and extensive supervision.

By the end of the course, students will have gained a qualification that meets the requirements for Stage 2 training.

  • Applicants whose first language is not English need an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component, or equivalent qualifications such as TOEFL and PTE.

Cost of Study

For international students enrolling in the DHealthPsych Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology at John Moores University, the tuition fee for the 2025/26 academic session is £18,250.
