Course Overview

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants need to show proof that they have finished a research project or a course in research design and analysis. 
  • Students who have work experience in communications can apply, but they must include their CV with their application.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants should have a UK bachelor's degree with a minimum grade of 2:2 or a similar degree from another country in a relevant subject. 
  • Applications are open to candidates from various fields, such as psychology, business, sociology, and politics. Strong skills in statistics or math are also important.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants who do not speak English as their first language must have an IELTS score of 6.0, with at least 5.5 in all skills, except in writing, where the minimum score must be 6.0. 
  • Alternatively, students can present equivalent scores from other accepted proficiency tests or take English language courses at the university to meet the requirements before starting their studies.

Cost of Study

For the 2025/26 academic year, the tuition fee for international students enrolled in the Heriot-Watt University MSc Business Psychology with Intercultural Communication programme is £21,192 per year. Part-time students will be required to pay £10,596 per year. Please note that these rates may change from year to year.

Scholarships

Heriot-Watt University provides a range of scholarships and discounts for international students. The International Merit Scholarship offers over £500,000 for students enrolling in January or September 2025. This scholarship rewards students with strong academic performance, and the amount awarded varies depending on their region. 

For students from Norway, the Norway Early Bird Scholarship offers financial support.
