MSc Health Psychology
Course overview
The MSc Health Psychology from Edge Hill University is designed to help students improve wellbeing, promote recovery from illness, support people with disabilities, and encourage a healthier lifestyle, while gaining specialist knowledge and skills in health psychology. Students will explore key issues and interventions designed to encourage changes to health-related behaviour, boosting wellbeing and promoting recovery.
During the course, students will examine the role of environmental, social, cultural and economic factors in health. They will also develop an understanding of why people engage in health-damaging behaviours and how to support them to make healthier lifestyle choices.
The programme can enable students to progress to Chartered Membership with the British Psychological Society (BPS), while also developing interpersonal, evaluative, technical and creative skills to assess health issues and design effective interventions.
