BSc Biochemistry

The BSc Biochemistry at Edge Hill University enables students to explore the connections between biology and chemistry through a combination of teaching and extensive practical work, helping them build their skills as research scientists. Candidates need to submit a personal statement to explain their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students also have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to show their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• The typical offer for the course is 112-120 UCAS Tariff points obtained through GCSE Mathematics and English Language at Grade C or Grade 4 (or equivalent).

English Proficiency:

• If you are from a non-English-speaking background, you are required to demonstrate your English language proficiency by scoring an overall 6.0 in the IELTS with no less than 5.5 in each component.
• The university also accepts equivalent scores, such as PTE and TOEFL.

For international students, for the BSc Biochemistry starting in the 2025/2026 academic year, the tuition fee for the programme is £17,000.

Edge Hill University provides various scholarships and bursaries to support students, including specific awards for international applicants. The Undergraduate Development Scholarship offers up to £3,000 towards the first year's tuition fees for eligible international students. Many of these scholarships are automatically considered upon application for a programme of study, meaning a separate application may not be required.
