Overview

The BSc Psychology with Education Studies at De Montfort University is a three-year course designed to help students combine psychology with in-depth knowledge of education and learning. Students will study cognitive, developmental, biological and social psychology, while also examining issues of equality, social injustice, and the role of literacy in society.

 

The course applies DMU’s block teaching system, where students work on one subject at a time in its curriculum, and offers optional modules to ensure seamless learning. Additionally, students will undertake a final-year dissertation, applying research skills to a topic of their interest.

 

Learning is through lectures, seminars, workshops, and lab sessions, supported by independent study. Assessment methods include essays, exams, presentations, portfolios and a dissertation, giving students a balance of theory and practice.

Entry Requirements

Grade Requirements:

  • Candidates need between 104-120 UCAS tariff points from two A-levels. T Levels, BTEC (merit), an International Baccalaureate of 30+ points, and an Access to HE Diploma, with at least 30 level-3 credits at Merit, are also accepted as part of the entry requirements.

English Proficiency:

  • Candidates whose first language is not English must have an IELTS overall score of 6.5.
