MSci Data Science

The MSci Data Science at Coventry University is designed to supplement the increasing demand for data scientists across different sectors, from healthcare to finance and from marketing to transport.

Students will study modules in mathematics, data analysis, programming, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data ethics, advanced algorithms and data visualisation. The integrated masters in this programme will deepen students’ knowledge and expertise.

The programme is conducted using applied learning, including lectures, tutorials, individual study and online learning. Assessments methods include coursework, group work, report, presentations, exams and a final year dissertation.

Coventry University is a public research institution located in Coventry, England. The university was formerly known as Lanchester Polytechnic from 1970 to 1987, then Coventry Polytechnic until it gained university status in 1992.

Coventry, as a modern university, offers high-quality education and focuses on applied research. The campus has modern facilities including design and engineering laboratories, performing arts studios and computing centres,  with a well-structured student support system.

Applicants are required to submit a personal statement explaining their interest and experience. Students are also to provide a reference from an academic or employer, and can submit a CV to show relevant work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants typically require a minimum of 128 UCAS tariff points (ABB at A Level), and should include mathematics at grade B.
• Alternatively, other relevant qualifications are considered.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants who are non-English speakers need an IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
• Alternatively, other tests such as TOEFL or PTE are also accepted.

The tuition fee for this course is  £19,850 per year for international students. Tuition fees are reviewed annually and may change.

Coventry University awards scholarships to international which offer a reduction in tuition fees. The Vice-Chancellor Postgraduate Scholarships which offer up to £2,500 tuition discount, is an example of scholarships, provided by the university to international students.
