BSc Psychology

Course Overview

In this BSc Psychology course, students will study the human mind and behaviour for three years. It is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). After graduating from this course with at least a 2:2, students will be eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC).

After the first year, this course allows students to focus on any area of their choice, such as forensic, sports and exercise, or psychology with counselling. The course also investigates how to apply psychology in the real world, and offers the opportunity to take an optional work placement or study abroad year.

Students will learn core areas of psychology, including developmental, social, biological, and cognitive perspectives. They will also learn academic and professional skills and be introduced to quantitative and qualitative research methods.

Entry Requirements for Nigerian Students

Candidates need to submit a personal statement and relevant information regarding their studies, an academic and/or employer reference, and their CVs to show their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Candidates need 112 UCAS points, including AS level, EPQ, A-levels, BTEC or an equivalent with two science subjects, which should include biology or chemistry.
  • Other International qualifications equivalent to A-levels are also accepted.
  • A GCSE at grade 4 or above in Maths.

English Proficiency:

  • Candidates need an overall score of 6.0 in the IELTS Academic test, with no score below 5.5.
  • Other English language test scores, such as PTE Academic and TOEFL IBT, are accepted, amongst others.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for the BSc Psychology at Coventry University for international students is £18,300, which is subject to change yearly.

Scholarships

Coventry University offers several scholarships for international students to help with tuition fees. They include the Vice-Chancellor's Undergraduate Scholarship, which provides up to £4,000 off tuition fees for a three-year course for international students starting in January. The International Pathways Scholarship offers £3,000 off tuition fees for students on the International Foundation Pathway course. Lastly, sports scholarships are available for talented athletes, worth £1,500 to £3,000 per year. Other options include the EU Support Bursary and Alumni Discount.
