BSc Architecture

This course is accredited by both the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Architects Registration Board (ARB). It focuses on a practical, hands-on approach to learning, with an emphasis on imagination and communication. Students will use drawing and model-making in their studio work to improve their creative skills.

The programme prepares students for today's world by combining art, history, and theory with practical studio sessions. Students will be taught by experienced staff who will help them develop their critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills. By the time they graduate, they will have a fantastic understanding of how global issues and local factors influence architecture.

Coventry University is a well-regarded institution known for its high standards in education and facilities. It has a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023 and has been given 5 QS Stars for both teaching and facilities. The university offers many different courses, including the course written about, and provides both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in fields such as Medicine, Law, Engineering, Business, and the Arts.

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants need a minimum of 128 UCAS points. This can be achieved through various qualifications, such as an A-level in any subject, with a minimum grade of ABB.
• Other qualifications, like a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma, may also be considered, with a minimum grade of DDD. For applicants who studied for the International Baccalaureate, a minimum of 34 points is required.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds may need to score at least 6.5 overall in IELTS, with a minimum of 5.5 in each section, or submit equivalent test scores.

The tuition fee for the BSc (Hons) Architecture course is £19,850 per year for international students.

Coventry University has scholarships available for students, with a few of them highlighted here. The Vice-Chancellor Undergraduate Scholarship offers international students (outside the EU) up to £4,000 off their tuition fees for a three-year undergraduate degree. This award is automatically considered for eligible applicants once they have a conditional offer and meet the other requirements.

EU students may be eligible for the EU Support Bursary, which makes their tuition fees the same as those for UK students. For students who play sports at a high level, the university offers Sports Scholarships. These are competitive awards that give students up to £3,000 in a mixture of a cash bursary and various support services to help them with both their academics and their athletic pursuits.
