BEng Civil Engineering
Course overview
The Coventry University BEng Civil Engineering with Foundation Year is a four-year programme designed to prepare students for a professional career in civil engineering. The first year, the foundation year, gives a solid grounding in essential mathematical principles and core concepts of civil and construction engineering. This initial year helps build the confidence, skills, and knowledge needed for degree-level study, setting students up for success.
After completing the foundation year, students move on to the BEng Civil Engineering degree. This part of the course focuses on developing technical, practical, and management skills to analyse, design, and oversee solutions for complex engineering problems. Students will learn through real-life case studies, use industry-standard software, and have chances for placements or international field trips. The full programme aims to prepare graduates for a leadership position in the civil engineering field, with opportunities for professional recognition.
