BSc Biomedical Science Health, Exercise Nutrition

Course Overview

This programme starts with a foundation year that builds students’ skills, knowledge, and confidence before moving to the main degree. The Biomedical Science (Health, Exercise & Nutrition) is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology. The programme studies the science of lifestyle, especially how exercise and nutrition can be used to improve health and to fight problems like obesity.

The programme shares its first year with the BSc Biomedical Science degree and will later allow students to select their specialisation from the second year. The programme teaches subjects in human physiology and biochemistry, and other subjects like clinical exercise physiology and public health nutrition. The graduates of this course can be employed in sports, health, and research sectors. Students are assessed through essays, literature reviews, exams, practical reports, presentations, case studies and a final project.

  • Candidates need 56 UCAS points including A-levels, BTEC or T levels or equivalent.
  • Other international qualifications equivalent to A-levels are also accepted.

English Proficiency:

  • Candidates should submit an overall score of 6.0 in the IELTS score, with no component below 5.5. PTE Academic and TOEFL are also accepted.
